Founded by Dr. iur. Rudolf Kündig

History

METROPOL AG is the first and therefore also the oldest translation company in Switzerland. It was founded in Zurich in 1915 and registered in the former “company register” of the City of Zurich in 1933. At the time, it was managed by Dr. iur. Rudolf Kündig under the name “Vervielfältigungs-, Schreib- und Uebersetzungsbureau Metropol”. Translations became the core business due to the ever increasing demand. 22 industrious scribes were employed.

In 1980, METROPOL AG merged with The English Institute which had already been serving the English language for 50 years at the time.

Our company is now devoted solely to translations. The longstanding experience and the competence of our translators enables us to fulfil the exacting requirements of our customers.

Our customers include public services, Swiss companies, large multinational groups of companies and also well-known law firms. But numerous private individuals also trust in our services.

As METROPOL AG, first Swiss translation company, we now devote ourselves solely to translations.
